Who provides PodNow
PodNow is an Android podcast player operated by Antoine Wood as an individual. There is no PodNow account. You can use the app to find podcasts, subscribe to feeds, play or download episodes, and manage a queue and listening progress.

Information stored on your device
PodNow stores information locally so the app can remember your library and playback state. This can include:
- Podcast subscriptions and feed addresses;
- Podcast and episode titles, notes, artwork and media addresses;
- Your queue, playback position, played status and download records;
- App preferences such as playback speed, appearance and refresh settings;
- Temporary directory results and image cache; and
- A small local troubleshooting trace for Android media and car controls.
Downloaded episodes are kept in PodNow's app-specific storage. Subscriptions, episode metadata and playback state do not have a fixed time-based expiry in the current app. If saved library data is damaged, the app may preserve a private recovery copy while it repairs the data; recovery copies do not have an automatic expiry. Search and chart results are temporary caches, and image caches may be cleared by Android or the image library.
Requests to Apple and podcast providers
When you search or browse the podcast directory, PodNow sends your search text, the selected catalogue region and related request parameters to Apple's podcast directory. The catalogue region is saved on your device and is selected from your Android locale or changed in Settings. PodNow does not use GPS or request location permission for this.
When you open or refresh a feed, load artwork, stream an episode or download it, PodNow sends network requests to the podcast publisher, its hosting or content-delivery providers, and any redirect destinations. Those requests include the relevant feed, image or audio address. Depending on your settings, background subscription refresh and automatic downloads can make requests when you are not actively using the app. Request headers can include technical information such as Android version, device model or the networking software in use. The services receiving requests can also receive connection information such as your IP address and request headers, and may be able to infer which shows or episodes you access.
Podcast feeds and media may use HTTP or HTTPS. HTTP requests are not encrypted in transit. Feed addresses can contain private credentials or access tokens; use care with private feeds and do not share an export containing addresses you want to keep private.
Apple, podcast publishers, hosting providers and redirect destinations operate their own services and determine their own retention and privacy practices. PodNow does not control their server logs or how long they keep request information.
App updates
PodNow checks Google Play for available updates when you open or return to the app. These checks provide Google Play with technical app and device information under Google's privacy practices. You choose whether to download an offered update.
Android media controls and connected devices
To support Android media controls, notifications and connected devices such as Android Auto, PodNow provides relevant playback metadata, queue and playback state to Android media services and connected media controllers. Your lock-screen, notification and connected-device settings affect what is shown.
PodNow does not include its own microphone recording feature. Voice input is handled by the assistant or platform you choose, under that service's own privacy practices.
Imports, exports and troubleshooting
If you import an OPML file, PodNow reads the file you select. An OPML export contains podcast names and feed addresses. A troubleshooting export contains app and Android version information and the local media-control trace. Exports happen only when you choose to create and save them.
You choose where exported files are saved. The selected document provider may store files locally or with a cloud service. PodNow cannot remove copies held by that provider. Feed addresses may contain private credentials or tokens, so review an export before sharing it.
How information is used and shared
Local information is used to provide the app's library, discovery, playback, refresh, download and troubleshooting features. Network request information is sent to the services described above to return directory results, feeds, artwork and audio. Exports go to the destination you select.
PodNow uses information stored on your device to provide the app. The app currently has no PodNow account service, cloud sync, advertising, analytics or automatic crash-report uploads. PodNow does not currently use information for advertising, sale or other commercial purposes, and does not operate a server that receives your library. Apple, podcast publishers, media hosts, Google Play, Android and a document provider may still receive the requests or files needed for features you use.
If we add analytics or commercial features, PodNow may collect technical and usage information, such as app interactions, searches, listening activity, device and app details, and diagnostic events. We may use, license or share information derived from this activity for analytics, app improvement, marketing, advertising and other commercial purposes. Before using or sharing it for those purposes, we will aggregate or de-identify it so it cannot reasonably be linked to you. We will not try to identify you from de-identified information. If a future feature requires identifiable information for these purposes, we will update this policy and provide any notice, choice or consent required by law before enabling it.
Retention and deletion
Local library information remains on your device until you remove it or clear PodNow's app data. Unsubscribing removes the subscription, but does not necessarily erase cached episode details, queue entries, listening progress or recovery copies. Removing a download removes that item from PodNow. When automatic cleanup is enabled, eligible played downloads are removed during cleanup; this is not an exact deletion deadline.
You can use Android settings to clear app storage or uninstall PodNow. Files you exported to another location are separate copies and must be removed using that location's controls. Because PodNow has no account or server-side library, it has no account-deletion process and cannot delete request logs held by Apple, podcast publishers, hosting providers or other services.
Security
PodNow stores its library in app-specific Android storage and uses HTTPS for Apple's directory requests. Publisher feed, artwork and audio addresses are used as provided and may use HTTP, which does not protect those requests from being read or changed while in transit. The app does not encrypt every stored item or every network request. Protect your device and take care when exporting or sharing feed addresses.
Age and podcast content
PodNow is intended for people aged 13 and older. Podcast content comes from third-party publishers and can vary widely; PodNow does not review every episode before it appears. Parents and guardians should use their judgment when a young person listens.
Changes to this policy
If PodNow's data practices change, this policy will be updated. The effective date at the top of the policy will change when a revised version is published.
